About Kerala University Distance Education
Kerala university was started in 1937, and is the first university in the state. It is re-accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. Currently it is affiliated to 223 colleges, and has 32 university study centers, 41 teaching and Research Departments, 10 schools and 17 Institutes of Technology.
University of Kerala established its School of Distance Education in 1976. SDE is located in the Kariavattom Campus, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala University Distance Education UG Admission 2026
For the July 2026-27 academic session, Kerala University Centre for Distance Education offer admission to only 01 UG program (BLIBISc) to students. The registration process for 2026 admission is likely to begin from 12 September 2026, with the last date to apply being 30 September 2026 at Kerala University SDE. This program is available for a duration of 1 year with 2 semesters at the UG level. The University provides Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc.), which focuses on the Management of Libraries, Organising Physical & Digital Resources, Cataloguing and Archiving Information. CDOE Kerala University offers admission to PG courses like M.Sc Mathematics, M.Sc Computer Science, and M.Lib.I.Sc in ODL mode. Admission form 2026-27 will be invited online at the official website by IDEKU for the July academic session. Students can apply only by paying an admission fee of INR 160/- via payment mode given by the university.

Kerala University Distance Education Fee Structure
Students have to pay the course fee online at www.ideku.net through the payment portal of the school of distance education. Also, fees can be remitted through pay-in-slip at the Cash Counters at the University Office or through online cash transfer or via ePayment portal. Fees can be paid through demand draft from any SBI bank in favour of university of kerala.
Apart from the course fee, students also have to pay additional fees for registration, assignments, Lab, SLM and prospectus.
