About University: Gujarat Vidyapith was founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920. It was granted deemed to be university status in 1963 by the UGC. Gujarat University Distance Education Admission 2026
Admission to Gujarat University for various undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses will begin soon for the July session 2026. Students have to register online, with their documents and pay an application fee of INR 600/- online. Programs at UG level include BA, BSc, BCOM, BPES, BCA, BPED, etc for the duration of 3 years with 6 semesters. At PG level, applicants can opt for 2 years (4 semesters) programs like B.Ed, M.Ed, MBA, MCA, MPED, MCOM, MSW, M.Lib.I.Sc, MA, etc.
Admission to any program will be based on the merit list and availability of reserved seats for each programme. However, it is important for students to have 10+2 qualifications and a bachelor’s degree from a recognized board or university to become eligible for admission. Students have to attend the counseling session with their documents for verification. Admission will be confirmed only after the payment of the registration fee and session fee for the respective courses by the students within the given date.
Note: As per UGC Guidelines, Gujarat Vidyapith does not offer any program in distance learning mode for the academic session 2026-27.

Gujarat Vidyapith Distance Education UG Course Admission
Gujarat Vidyapith offers admission to UG programs like BA, BCOM, BCA, BPES, BSc, BPED, etc. all the programs are UGC approved and are offered for the course period of 3 years with 6 semesters. To be eligible for admission, students must be 10+2 passed in any stream from a with atleats 40% mark from a recognised board. Applicants belonging to the reserved category will be given 5% mark relaxation at the time of admission.
Only those students will be selected for admission,who have qualified the CUET UG conducted by the NTA and GEETA conducted by the university. The total UG course fee at Gujarat Vidyapith distance education will vary from INR 4,000/- to INR 7,000/-*. The medium of instruction for all the courses will be Gujarati only.
Gujarat Vidyapith Distance education PG Admission
Admission to Gujarat Vidyapith for master degree courses will be instituted soon for the July session 2026. Students can avail PG courses offered by the university such as MBA, MCA. MCOM. MPED, M.Ed, MA, MSc, MSW and M.Lib.I.Sc. These courses are provided for the academic duration of 2 years with 4 semesters. Admission is open for students who have completed a 3 year UG degree from a recognized university in any discipline.
They must have secured a minimum 50% mark (45% for SC/ST category) in the qualifying examination. Final admission will be based on the merit scores CUET PG and GEETA (Gujarat Vidyapith Eligibility and Efficacy Test for Admission) and seat reservation. Gujarat Vidyapith distance education charges program fee ranging from INR 5,000/- to INR 10,000/-. All the programmes will be delivered in Gujarati medium only.
Gujarat Vidyapith Distance Education Eligibility Criteria
Admission to all UG, PG, PG Diploma programmes will be based on CUET/GEETA merit list prepared by the Gujarat Vidyapith. However, it is very important for students to hold basic eligibility as given below:
- For UG Program: Applicants must have passed their 12th standard in any stream with a minimum 40% mark from a recognised board.
- For PG Program: Must have a bachelor’s degree in any subject with minimum 50% mark (45% for reserved category) from a recognized university.
- For PG Diploma (Generative AI and Prompt Engineering): Must have passed BCA, MCA, M.Sc. (IT), B.E, B.Tech from a recognized university.
- For PhD Program: UGC- NET, CSIR-UGC NET in Categories: JRF OR Assistant Professor without JRF (1 Year Validity) OR Ph.D. (1 Year Validity).
- Relaxation: Minimum 5% mark relaxation will be provided to applicants belonging to SC/ST category.
- Entrance Exam: Applicants have to pass either CUET UG/PG or GEETA conducted by the university and physical fitness test for BPES, BPED and MPED program.
Gujarat Vidyapith Distance Education Entrance Exam
Students applying to Gujarat Vidyapith for any program must appear and qualify any 1 entrance examination.The entrance examination will be OMR based and will be conducted in Gujarati, Hindi, and English medium. Students have to appear for the entrance examination in their selected examination centre. The GEETA entrance examination will be conducted for the duration of 90 minutes and will consist of 60 questions. Admission to Gujarat university distance education for BPES, B.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. programs will be through a physical fitness test.
Applicants have to pass any one entrance examination:
- CUET (UG)–2026, CUET (PG)–2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency.
