Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education Admission 2026: Jamia Millia Islamia will soon commence its admission for the July session 2026. An online application form will be available for all the UG and PG courses offered in ODL mode. The last date to submit the registration form for JMI Distance Education admission 2026 will be 30 April 2026. Jamia Millia Islamia was established in 1920. JMI received deemed to be university status by the uGC in 1963 and became a full-fledged university in 1988. It is accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. It has 112 faculties, with 42 departments and has 30 centers of learning. Jamia Millia Islamia started its Center for distance and online education (CDOE) in 2002. Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education Admission 2026
For the July 2026-27 academic session, Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education admission will commence from 15 April 2026, with an application deadline of 30 April 2026. Applicants have to access the online application form, as there is no provision of a printed application form for admission. The registration fee will vary between INR 500/- to INR 1500/-. JMI, distance education offers UGC approved courses like BA, BBA, BCOM, BEd, at the UG level and MBA and MA at the PG level. The eligibility criteria required for the UG program are +2 qualifications, and for the PG program, a bachelor’s degree in any related discipline.
Relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD applicants. For all UG/PG programs, JMI will select students based on their previous academic performance. Admission to bachelor degree courses in ODL mode at Jamia Millia Islamia will commence soon for the academic session 2026. Programs include BA (general), BBA and BCOM for the duration of 4 years with 8 semesters. The eligibility criteria includes, to be 10+2 passed or equivalent in any stream from a recognized board.
There is no entrance exam for any UG courses as Selection will be solely based on the student ‘s previous academic performance. The main medium of instruction and study material will be only English and there are no minimum age requirements. The UG course fee will range around INR 8000/- to INR 9,500/- annually.
Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education PG Admission 2026
JMI, center of distance and online education offers admission to PG courses like B.Ed, MBA, MA in Geography, Islamic Studies, Human Resources and MSc in Geography. All the programmes are recognised by the UGC-DEB and are available in Open and distance learning mode. The master degree course spans over the course length of 2 years with 4 semesters. To become eligible for admission, students have to hold a bachelor’s degree in any related field from a UGC approved university.
The minimum required mark is 50% for general category and 45% for reserved category. There is 5% mark relaxation for SC/ST/PWd applicants. The course fee varies between INR 11,000/- to INR 30,000/- per year. The application fee for MBA and B.Ed entrance exam is INR 1500/- (non-refundable). There is no upper age limit and the only medium used for instructions and study material is English.
Applicants will be selected based on the merit performance in the previous qualifying examination except for MBA/B.Ed program, which will be based on the score obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the JMI-CDOE.
Eligibility Criteria of Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education
Applicants applying to Jamia Millia Islamia for any ODL program at UG and PG level, must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria. Such as given below:
- For UG Degree Program: Pass in the higher secondary or equivalent examination from any recognized board.
- For PG Degree Program: A bachelor degree of 3 years in any discipline with at least 50% mark (45% for reserved category) from a recognized university.
- For B.Ed Program: Trained in-service teachers in elementary education, or who have completed NCTE- recognized two-year teacher education programme through face-to-face mode..
- Mark Relaxation: There is 5% mark relaxation for the SC/ST category.
- Medium: English will be the only medium of instruction, though students can write their examination either in Urdu, English or Hindi.

Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education Entrance Exam
The center of distance and online education (CDOE) of Jamia Millia Islamia conducts entrance examinations for Master Of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programs. Both the programs are offered in ODL mode for the duration of 2 years with 4 semesters respectively. JMI-CDOE has scheduled to conduct the entrance exam on 07 March 2026. The application form of INR 1500/- has to be filled out and submitted before the given deadline as no application will be accepted after the due date.
The duration of the entrance test will be 2 hours. There will be a total of 100 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) with a total of 100 marks. There will be no negative marking. Students are advised to read the instructions carefully and ensure to check the eligibility criteria before submitting the online application form.
Jamia Millia Islamia Distance Education Admission Process
The admission process of Jamia Millia Islamia for all the ODL courses will be conducted online. New applicants have to create their ABC ID UGC DEB-ID and read the instructions before initiating the process. Submission of the JMI-CDOE online application form undergoes the following steps:
Step 1. Click on the ‘new registeration’ button.
Step 2. Fill in the required details in the form and click on submit.
Step 3. An account activation code will be sent to registered email or phone number.
Step 4. Set a strong password.
Step 5. Login with the credential and start filling the admission form.
Step 6. Select the preferred program and pay entrance exam fee( wherever applicable).
Step 7. Upload all the documents in mentioned size and format, along with scanned signature and photograph.
Step 8. Verify all the input details and submit the application form.
Step 9. Take a printout of the admission form submitted online and visit the university for physical verification of the document.
Step 10. Check the application status on the JMI admission portal.
Note: If a student submits more than one application form for the same program, then JMI reserves the right to reject the application form.
