Sambalpur University Distance Education: Online registration for all the distance courses at Sambalpur University will commence soon for the July session 2026. The university offers only 1 Bachelor’s degree course and 2 Master’s degree courses in ODL mode. Students can apply to their desired course by filling out and submitting the application form before the given deadline. The last date of Sambalpur University Distance Education admission 2026 will be 30 April 2026*. There is no application fee charged by the university for any program.

Students applying to the UG program must have a 10+2 qualification, and for the PG program, a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university is required. Since there will be no entrance examination for any program, selection will be purely based on merit. About University: Sambalpur University started functioning in 1967, and covers 6 districts of the State of Odisha. Which includes Athamallik Sub-Division of Angul District, Deogarh, Bargarh, Boudh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda. It founded the  Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE) in 1998, and was renamed as the Center for distance and online education in 2021. It started offering UG and PG courses with 13 affiliated colleges to serve as learner support centres(LSC). All the programs such as MBA, BBA and MCOM got recognition by the UGC-DEB in 2023.

Sambalpur University Distance Education Admission 2026 

The Center of Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Sambalpur University accepts online applications for all the UG and PG programs. Students have to read all the important guidelines and instructions before proceeding. It is mandatory to check eligibility criteria and fee structure of the detailed course. Sambal university distance education offers admission to BBA program at UG level and MCOM and MBA program at PG level.

Admission will be provided to only those applicants who have required qualification as university does not conduct entrance examination. During the registration process, it is mandatory to submit self-attested copies of all the original documents to the Director, CDOE of Sambalpur University Via post or hand. Submission must be done within 7 days of issue of the intimation letter, failing which will result in rejection of the application form. Sambalpur University Distance Education UG Admission 

Sambalpur, CDOE, offers only BBA program at level in ODL mode for the academic session 2026. Interested students can seek admission to this program by filling the application form and submitting required documents to the Sambalpur University, CDOE office. Bachelor of Business Administration is offered for the course length of 3 years with 6 semesters. To be eligible, applicants must complete their 10+2 from any recognised board.

Admission will be based on merit as CDOE of Sambalpur University does not hold entrance exams for any program. BBA total course fee is INR 33,000/- and per semester fee is around INR 5000/-. There is no age limit and the medium of instruction will be Hindi, English and Odia

Sambalpur University Distance Education PG Course Admission 

The Centre of Distance and online education of Sambalpur University offers only 2 Postgraduate degree courses. Which include MCOM and MBA, for the course period of 2 years with 4 semesters. Both the programs are recognised by the UGC-DEB and AICTE in Open and Distance Learning mode. To be eligible for admission, students must have completed their bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

There will be no entrance test, so students will be selected based on their merit in the previous qualifying examination. The course fee will vary between INR 14,000/- to INR 62,000/- for the entire duration. Also, there is no upper age limit, so individuals of any age group with basic eligibility can apply for admission.

Admissions are merit based for all the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees courses. Hence, it is very important for students to have basic educational qualifications such as: 

  • For UG Programmes: Pass 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognised board in any discipline. 
  • For PG Programmes: A bachelor degree of 3 years in any related field from a recognised university/institution. 
  • Language: It is important to have proficiency in either Hindi, English and Odia. 
  • Age Limit: There is no minimum or maximum age bar for any program. 
  • Selection Criteria: There will be no entrance exam, so selection will be solely based on the student’s performance in the qualifying examination. 

Sambalpur University Distance Education Admission Process 

Students applying to BBA, MBA, and MCOM program have to submit their duly-filled application form by following the steps given below: 

Step 1: Go to the official website of Sambalpur University, CODE. 

Step 2: Register with your name, email ID and phone number. 

Step 3: Login and fill up the application form. 

Step 4: Scan and upload all the required documents. 

Step 5: Select the program and fill in the correct course details. 

Step 6: Submit the application form and take a printout. 

Step 7: Along with the application form, submit all the mentioned documents to the The Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education, Sambalpur University, Jyoti Vihar, Sambalpur, Odisha–768019. 

Step 8: After the verification of the documents, students will get the confirmation mail and message.

Sambalpur university, CDOE, offers affordable course fees for all its distance programs. The course fee will range around INR 3000/- to INR 15,000/- per semester, depending on the course level. Apart from the course fee, students have to pay an examination fee of INR 500/-, per semester. All the payment has to be made through State Bank Collect during the admission process.
