National Sanskrit University Distance Education Admission: Online registration will commence soon for all the ODL programs at NSKTU Distance Education for the academic session 2026. Students have to fill and submit the admission form with all the correct details on the samarth portal. Registrations will open to UG, PG, Certificate, and Diploma courses approved by the UGC-DEB. For UG admission, students have to pass either Prak-Shastri, Uttara Madhyama, Upa Shastri, Sahitya of Karnataka State, etc.

For PG program pass qualification, a 3-year degree course or Shastri in respective courses, or B.A.equivalent examinations with Sanskrit. The annual course fee will vary from INR 3,000/- to INR 14,000/- depending on the program. Registrations are expected to close by 15 April 2026*, so students are advised to submit the duly filed application form before the given deadline, along with an application fee of INR 700/-

About National Sanskrit University Distance Education 

National Sanskrit University is a central university established in the year 1961. It is accredited by NAAC with an A+ Grade in the 3rd cycle and is funded by the Ministry of Education through UGC. National Sanskrit University aims to provide higher education in the field of Sanskrit studies, Sanskrit Teacher Education and Traditional Shastras. It established the centre of distance and online education in 2003, with the support of the DEB, DEC, and the UGC. It offers traditional courses in Sahitya, Vyakarana, Jyotisha, Puranetihasa, Dharmasastra, Yogic Sciences etc and modern courses like Computer Science, History, English Literature and Yoga Meditation. All the courses offered are approved by the UGC-DEB.

National Sanskrit University Distance Education UG Admission 

NSKTU Distance Education offers 3 UG courses in ODL mode, which is approved by the UGC. It includes  Shastri Honours (Sahitya), Shastri Honours (Vyakarana) and B.A Honours (Sanskrit). All these honors courses are available for the duration of 4 years with 8 semesters. It is provided in semester mode, under CBCS as per NEP 2020 with multiple entry and exit options.

To be eligible for admission students have to clear any one of the following examination: Prak-Shastri, Uttara Madhyama, Madhyama of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Upa Shastri , Sahitya of Karnataka State, Intermediate, NIOS (XII) or equivalent examination. The UG course fee is around INR 5,000/- per year. The medium of instruction for traditional courses will be Sanskrit and for modern courses, English. Applicants must be at least 17th years old. 

NSKTU Distance Education PG Admission 

National Sanskrit University, CDOE is accepting applications for PG courses offered in ODL mode for the academic year 2026. Programs on offer are Acharya (Sahitya), Acharya (Dharmasastra), Acharya (Puranetihasa) and Acharya (Phalita Jyotisha). Their programs are available for minimum duration of 2 years (4 semesters) and maximum duration of 4 years (8 semesters).

To qualify for admission, students must pass any of the following examination: 3-year degree course or Shastri in respective courses, Vidyalankara /Vedalankara/ Vidwat Madhyama or equivalent examinations conducted by State and Central Institutions, or BA equivalent examination with sanskrit, etc. English will be used for modern courses and Sanskrit for traditional courses. University charges PG courses of INR 7,000/- per year. Also, students must be at least 20 years old to be eligible for admission. 

Eligibility Criteria for NSKTU Distance Education 

Students applying to National Sanskrit University for any ODL course must meet with the following eligibility criteria: 

  • For UG Program: Must complete and pass 10+2 examination or equivalent form a recognised board in any stream. 
  • For PG Program: A 3 year bachelor degree or a Shastri degree with Sanskrit as main subject form any recognised university. 
  • For Certificate Course: Must be 13 years of age as on 1st August of the year of Admission and have the ability to read and write Devanagari script. 
  • For Diploma Course: Pass in Certificate course in Sanskrit of NSU, Tirupati or any equivalent examination. 
  • For PG Diploma: Pass 3-year Degree Programme or equivalent form recognised university. 
  • Age Limit: The minimum age limit for UG is 17th years old, for PG is 20 years old, 16th years old for diploma courses and below 45 years old for PG Diploma. 
  • Medium: Students must have proficiency in English and Sanskrit language.

National Sanskrit University Distance Education Admission Process

Students applying for admission to NSU-CDOE, for any UG and PG program in distance mode, must create their ABC ID and DBE ID. registration will be held online and will include the following steps:

Step 1: Visit the official registration portal of NSU, CDOE. 

Step 2: Register yourselves with a valid email ID and mobile number. 

Step 3: Login with the credentials and fill up the admission form with correct details. 

Step 4: Upload all the necessary documents after scanning them.

Step 5: Pay application fee of INR 700/- online. 

Step 6: Submit the application form before the due date. 

Step 7: Keep a printout of the application form for reference. 

Documents Required 

During the online admission process, applicants are required to upload the following list of documents: 

  • Provisional and Pass Certificate
  • Marks List from Matriculation / SSC /OSLC to the last qualifying examination.
  • Copy of Date of birth Certificate
  • Govt issued ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Voter/Driving License and Passport)
  • Copy of ABC (Academic Bank of Credits) ID
