Guahati University Distance Education: The online registration process of Gauhati University, CDOE has begun for the academic year 2026. Interested students have to create their ABC ID and DEB ID before filling out the admission form. For the current academic session, GUCDOE is offering admission to only PG programs like MA, MCOM and MSc IT in ODL mode. To be eligible, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any related field from a recognised university.
Selection of the applicants will be based on academic merit, as GUCDOE does not conduct entrance tests for any program. Admission will be confirmed only after the payment of the course fee, ranging from INR 5000/- to INR 14,500/- per semester. About Gauhati University Distance Education
Gauhati University Centre For Distance And Online Education (GUCDOE) was started in 1998 as the Post Graduate Correspondence School (PGCS). It was renamed as GUIDOL in 2008 and again as GUCDOE in 2023, following the UGC-DEB ODL regulations. GUCDOE offers 6 postgraduate degree courses and provides learner support services like digital library, counseling, SLM, computer labs, wifi enabled campus, ICT enabled classrooms, etc. it aims at providing higher quality education with inclusivity and flexibility. Gauhati University Distance Education has 123 study centers and examination centers.

Guwahati University Distance Education PG Admission 2026
Gauhati University, Centre of distance and online learning (GUCDOE) offers only PG programs in Open and Distance Learning mode. It includes master degree courses like MCOM, MSc in IT, MA with specializations in Assamese, English, Political Science, and Education. The duration of these courses are 2 years with 4 semesters. To be eligible for admission, applicants must have a 3 year bachelor’s degree in any field from a UGC approved university.
There is no entrance examination, so selection will be merit based via previous academic performance. There is no upper age limit, so anyone with basic eligibility can apply. The total program fee will range around INR 20,000/- to INR 58,000/-. All the programs and their study material will be delivered in English medium, except for MA in Assamese.
Guwahati University Distance Education Eligibility Criteria
Gauhati University, Centre for distance and online education offers admission on merit basis as it does not conduct any entrance test. Students must ensure to have basic eligibility criteria to get admission. Such as:
- For MA and MCOM Program: Students have to graduate in any discipline from any UGC approved university with minimum required marks.

Gauhati University Distance Education Admission Process
Admission to GUCDOE for any PG program will be conducted online only. Students have to create their ABC ID and DEB ID before starting the registration process. Step 1: Visit the portal: http:/ / gucdoe.in/ online admission.
Step 2: Enter DEB ID and your Name, Contact Details, Date of Birth, and other information will be automatically filed in.
Step 3: Fill the admission form by choosing the desired Programme, Study Centre and Learner Support Centre.
Step 4: Download the fee challan and make the payment.
Step 5: Upload all the scanned documents, including your photograph and signature.
Step 6: Submit original documents for verification, after which you will receive a roll-number.
Step 7: Next, collect study material from the respective study centre.

GUCDOE, provides printed study material for all the courses to the students after the admission. Students can receive their study material through post or hand, as per their choice or from their respective study center. However, students can also download respective program study material from the official website of GUCDOE.
In online format, study material will be accessible block-wise, which is organized through semester and course code. It will also include various sections and subsections of the unit, along with SAQs (Self Asking Questions). To collect study material for all semesters, students have to bring their admission receipt.
